ACES - PA Business Week

Goal: $500.00

Specific Need

ACES will once again be bringing Economic Education to the Penncrest School District! Our programs provide valuable business skills to the students we serve and would not be possible without your support.

  • This school year, ACES plans to provide an Economic Education experience for students at Cambridge Springs Jr/Sr High, Maplewood Jr/Sr High and Saegertown Jr/Sr High Schools.
  • Funds raised through Crawford Gives will directly benefit the Pennsylvania Business Week Programs within the Penncrest School District. In order to cover the expenses associated with bringing the program to each high school, we need to raise $14,000 per school.

Mission

ACES is a non-profit, non political education organization promoting the understanding of free market economics to students, teachers, and the general public through partnerships between the business and education communities.

Profile

Americans for the Competitive Enterprise System was established in 1956 and has provided Western Pennsylvania with free enterprise education programs since that time. ACES' purpose is to promote and inform our supporters and participants about the benefits of the free enterprise system through structured programs for students, teachers, and the general public. We have achieved a strong standing in both the business and education communities and serve as a link between the two. ACSE has directly served over 23,000 students and educators through a variety of educational programs over the past twenty-five years.

The most successful and well known ACES program is Pennsylvania Business Week. Pennsylvania Business Week is a one-week in-school program with a rigorous curriculum that teaches students about the American economic system. High school students are divided into management teams that run their own companies through a computer simulation. The students run the companies for 12 business quarters by making all managerial decisions dealing with the pricing of their products, investing, marketing, production, research and development, and human resources. Simulating real world business decision-making helps students learn how businesses operate, leadership skills, teamwork, time management, analytical thinking, problem solving and "people" skills, all while exploring the many career paths available in the business and manufacturing world.

We hope that you will consider donating to help support our mission and thank you in advance for your generosity.
