We are thrilled to announce our next big project, and we need your support to bring it to life!

At West End Elementary, we’re raising funds to create a versatile outdoor space that will serve our students and teachers for years to come. This new area will be a safe, engaging, and functional environment that promotes learning, play, and physical well-being.

What we’re building:

Protective curbing around our all-inclusive, turf playground to ensure it stays in top shape for generations to come.
A cement patio with a covered pavilion, perfect for outdoor classrooms, lunchtime, and shaded recess play.
An extended cement area for classic games like hopscotch and Foursquare — fostering active, creative play.

This new outdoor space will provide countless opportunities for fresh-air learning, physical activity, and personal growth, all while supporting the emotional and educational needs of our students. It’s a space where kids can engage with nature, build memories, and thrive.

About the West End Elementary PTO

The West End Elementary PTO is dedicated to enhancing the educational experience for our students, supporting our teachers, and strengthening our school community. Through a wide variety of programs and initiatives, we provide the resources and opportunities that help make West End a place where every child can thrive.

We’re proud to sponsor events like Track and Field Day, BARK Rewards, PSSA Snacks, 6th Grade Promotion, and Kindergarten Orientation, all designed to celebrate student achievements and build school spirit. Additionally, we support our teachers by providing essential classroom supplies, contribute to the beautification of our school grounds, and fund transportation for field trips, ensuring students have enriching experiences both in and outside the classroom.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our West End families and the broader community, we were excited to complete the long-anticipated playground project this year, marking a major milestone after six years of planning and fundraising!

Our current goal is to protect and enhance this new playground by building protective curbing around our all-inclusive, turf play area. This curbing will help preserve the integrity of the turf, ensuring its longevity and safety for generations to come.

In addition, we are working towards the creation of an outdoor pavilion with a cement base. This versatile structure will serve as an outdoor classroom, lunchtime space, and shaded area during recess. It will provide students with a functional, engaging, and comfortable environment, promoting both learning and wellness.

As we look to the future, the PTO remains committed to continuing the traditions that make West End Elementary such a special place. Every effort we make is a reflection of the incredible support and involvement from our community. Together, we are building more than just structures — we’re building lasting opportunities, cherished memories, and a stronger school experience for every child.
