Oil Creek Railway Historical Society (Oil Creek & Titusville Railroad)

Goal: $5,200.00

Specific Need

These funds will be used to offset the costs associated with operating the train for the Heritage School Tours, which we host every year.  We have worked hard to allow local area schools to continue their traditions of field trips for the kids, by soliciting funds specifically applied to the Heritage School Tours and allowing children to ride at a discount, and sometimes, (if enough funds are available), for free. This allows the children to experience the history of the "valley that changed the world" and be a low-cost enough activity that the PTO programs can afford to send the children.  We would love to expand the area from which we get students to include more of Western Crawford County and we feel this will be a step to help with this goal.

Mission

The Oil Creek Railway Historical Society will operate, develop, and promote the Oil Creek & Titusville Railroad to educate riders about the industrial, cultural and railroad history of the Oil Creek Valley in Crawford and Venango Counties.
