Specific Need

Each year, college tuition and fees continue to increase. Fewer and fewer of our bright and talented high school graduates' families are able to afford a post-secondary education for their children. This financial barrier impacts us all. It's no surprise we're facing shortages of teachers, nurses, doctors, engineers, social workers, and other vital professionals. The potential is there - what's missing is access.

When we invest in education, we uplift individuals - and strengthen our entire community.

The specific need:

To raise $20,000.00 for scholarships awarded to outstanding graduates of the Meadville Area Senior High School
To deposit these funds into the Crawford Heritage Community Foundation to endow this perpetual scholarship fund

Mission

The mission of the Meadville Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Fund is to award scholarships each year to graduates of the Meadville Area Senior High School who are bright and talented, economically disadvantaged students who exhibit the principles of Dr. King in scholarship and character.
