Goal: $10,000.00
Specific Need
This year, your support is helping us transform our History Center into a destination for learning and discovery. We are creating engaging museum exhibits, replacing flooring damaged after frozen pipes burst last winter, and continuing the cataloging and preservation of thousands of historical artifacts, photographs, and documents. Donations also support meaningful community programs, including our annual Quilts of Valor Presentation honoring local veterans, and the restoration and dedication of our historic 1876 Centennial Bell in celebration of America's 250th anniversary. This treasured bell, cast during our nation's Centennial, serves as a powerful link between the 100th and 250th anniversaries of our country's founding and stands as a lasting symbol of our shared heritage. Every gift, large or small, helps keep the history of Canadohta Lake alive for generations to come.
Mission
To collect, preserve and maintain documents and artifacts relating to and the history of the Canadohta Lake Area and to engage and promote historical educational and cultural activities in and around Canadohta Lake, Crawford County, Pennsylvania.
Profile
The Lake Canadohta Historical Society is dedicated to preserving, sharing, and celebrating the rich history of Canadohta Lake and the surrounding community. Since our founding in 2020, we have worked to collect and protect photographs, documents, artifacts, and stories that might otherwise be lost to time.
Our Lake Canadohta History Center provides a permanent home where these treasures can be preserved, displayed, and shared with the public. Through exhibits, educational programs, guest speakers, community events, historical research, and special projects, we are working to keep our local history alive for generations to come.
Every photograph has a story. Every artifact holds a memory. Together, we can preserve them.
