Conneaut Eagles Foundation

Specific Need

The Conneaut Eagles Foundation, which was established in 2014 to support both teachers seeking grants and students with scholarships, is seeking to raise $5,000 to provide scholarships and grants to students and teachers in the Conneaut School District. Funds raised will be used to continue our support of post-secondary education for our students along with providing money to teachers for educational materials not within their district budgets.

During the current year, we have funded several teacher grants totaling over $1000 including an in-class library for Kindergarten and a Coffee cart which will be employed to teach students about finances. As for student scholarships, we awarded 4 of them at $1,000 each.

Mission

The Conneaut Eagles Foundation was established in 2014. It was founded for the express purpose of providing scholarships to students and grants to teachers in the Conneaut School District in Pennsylvania. Since the beginning of our mission, the foundation has awarded thousands of dollars to deserving recipients. We believe we have made a significant impact within our district and look forward to continuing and even expanding our mission.

The mission of the Eagles Foundation of the Conneaut (PA) School District shall be a broad based nonprofit community organization whose exclusive mission is to secure resources from individuals, corporations, community organizations and foundations to be distributed to support programs for the benefit of the students in the Conneaut School District which will lead to the overall improvement of the quality of education and an enhancement of community support for public education.

Profile

Grants to teachers have allowed them to provide a higher level of education to their students through incorporating materials they have not been able to purchase using their yearly limited district budget. A few examples include, computers and materials for such programs as Osmo and Sphero Robots, Competition Lego Mindstorm Robotics sets, Beebot Coding For Early Learners, and a Hydroponic System.

As far as scholarships, upon receiving applications from students we choose those deemed acceptable for said scholarships. The number of scholarships awarded is dependent on how many we feel are deserving and the funding available. We would like nothing better than to award higher amounts of money to more students in the future. These scholarships are open to students who are pursuing any kind of secondary training after high school.
