Specific Need

Our Plan is to continue upgrading our children's area. This will allow us to expand S.T.E.A.M. [Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math] activities in our catalog as well as the play/craft zone within the library proper. Needs include new shelving for activity supplies, tote bags for S.T.E.A.M. materials plus the activities for loan, games and art supplies to satisfy curious minds and busy hands of our youngest patrons. We are also looking to add a new shelving unit in our popular graphic novel section. We are ever so grateful for your support.

Mission

The primary purpose of this organization is to provide all the people of the Cochranton area with access to a balanced collection of books and other materials which will serve their educational, cultural and recreational needs.

Profile

The Cochranton Area Public Library opened August 1, 1969 in two rooms of an old house with a Keystone Ordnance building attached. The structure saw many renovations and necessary maintenance over the years but by 2012, the property proved beyond repair. Local efforts to save the library were begun, and the new Cochranton Area Public Library opened its doors in September 2015. Our service area includes Fairfield, E. Fairfield, and Wayne townships, Cochranton Boro, and French Creek Twp [Mercer Co.]

Wednesday: 10-4

Saturday: 9am-4pm
