The Associated Charities is a community-based charitable organization that "Provides a Helping Hand when Needed" The services we are able to provide are based on the generosity of those in our community who support the Associated Charities and believe in our mission.  The community's support comes in the way of donations which include: financial, new and gently used clothing and household items, food and one's time.

Ways in Which We Can Help

     Client Services

  • Back to School - New Clothing, Sneakers, School Supplies and Personal Hygiene Items and free haircuts
    • 176 students served; 113 of those received free haircuts in (2026)
  • Winter Clothing - Coats, Boots, Gloves and Hats
  • Holiday Assistance - Gifts
  • Summer Programming for Youth
  • Work Clothing for Persons Finding Jobs

     "The A/C" Thrift Store

  • The store is open to the public to make purchases.
  • Eligible families with a current file can receive free clothing, household and personal hygiene items each month.  Our hope is that the money they are saving by receiving these items for free can be used to buy food and pay for utilities and gasoline.
    • Approximately 80 families vist the "A/C Thrift Store" each month to receive free items

     Food Pantry

  • Service area: Eastern Crawford county, Northern Venango county and Warren county (Southwest and Eldred Townships)
    • 306 families being served each month; 2,556 distributions were made to families in 2025
  • "Pantry to Plate" monthly cooking demonstrations where tips, tricks and recipes are shared.  At the end of class, a shared meal is provided.  Classes are open to the public and free for all participants.
  • "Bundle to Plate" is an additional monthly item offered through the Food Pantry.  This bundle is a healthy, nutritional meal which is pre-packed and includes the recipe and the items to make the meal.

     Emergency Fuel and Utility Assistance

     The Associated Charities is able to disburse funds for the following programs:

  •  Associated Charities General Fund partnership with the United Way of the Venango and Titusville Region
  • Northwestern Rural Electric Fund - Member to Member
  • National Fuel Fund - Neighbor for Neighbor
    • $57,810.16 in funding secured to pay utility shut-offs in 2025

     Lending of Medical Equipment

  • Walkers, wheel chairs, potty seats, etc.
  • Incontinence products (Depends) given away free to any indiviuals in need depending on supply.
  • You do not need to be a client to receive this service.
