Specific Need

We are an all volunteer outreach. There are no paid staff.  We bag 6 non-perishable food items, for free ,every weekend during the school year for approximately 90 children a week at our awesome Maplewood Elementary school. 4-5 volunteers a week pack the bags. The approximate cost per bag is $4.25.  The cost per week is $382.50. We also pay for the kindergarten snack for 68 children a day at Maplewood.  The average cost is $325.00 a month.  We are in our 8th school year.    In addition, we established a free rural food pantry, no questions asked, in a grange building beside New Richmond United Methodist Church. We are in our 5th year.  The hours of operation are 4:00 pm-5:30 pm every week and 2-3 volunteers a week assist people in choosing 1 paper bag full of food of their choosing. The approximate cost is $15.00 a bag. We average 15-20 families a week for an approximate cost of $300.00 a week.  We frequently receive emergency phone calls from all over crawford county and open the pantry, no questions asked, for people who have no food.

Mission

We Bring His Food and His Presence.  Nutrition is key to the education of our children.  We have made the difference is closing the weekend hunger gap for children in our community.  We look forward to and are committed to serving people in our community and the surrounding communities with food scarcity in our county.
