Specific Need

We  need support to purchase food for our Crawford Central elementary students that recieve weekend food bags during the school year.  We have so many little ones that do not get enough food to eat on the weekends for reasons that are out of their control.  We choose food that is simple for a child to fix on their own if they would need to.   During the 2022-23 school year, we distributed about 450 bags each week.  Our weekly grocery bills averaged $2,000.

Mission

Our mission is to provide nutritious foods for the weekend to elementary  students in Crawford Central School District  during the school year.  We are called WiNS because when kids are well fed, we all win!

Meadville, Pennsylvania has a poverty level of about 24%, which is over twice the national average.  The WiNS Project, Inc. works to provide students at Crawford Central School District with food to take home over the weekend.
