Titusville Area Health Center Foundation - Titusville Area Hospital

Goal: $20,000.00

Specific Need

This summer a new Dental Clinic opened on the first floor at Titusville Area Hospital (TAH).  It primarily treats the underserved children in our area that are otherwise denied care due to their insurance.  TAH is also welcoming a gynecologist, Lisa Rubin, MD.  Dr. Rubin will begin seeing patients in October in the physician service space on the first floor of TAH.  With these services added to an already full service area, TAH is renovating existing office space to make room for eight more outpatient exam rooms.  Any funds raised during this event will be used for this current renovation.  The estimated cost for the whole project is $500,000.  This renovation will impact many, from the new dental and gynecology patients to the already established patients.  In fiscal year 2019, the physician services clinic had 21,000 patient visits. It is anticipated that the number of patients served per year will increase dramatically once the expansion is complete.

Titusville Area Hospital has served our community since our founding in 1900. All of these patients have been treated according to our guiding mission statement: “Titusville Area Hospital is committed to providing quality healthcare services with an emphasis on personal attention, compassion, and respect.”  Adhering to this principle has made us an award winning hospital with national recognition. Working closely with patients has taught us much about the importance of learning about their goals and creating an appropriate treatment plan.

Founded in 1985, the Titusville Area Health Center Foundation was established to meet the identified healthcare needs in the region. The primary focus of the Foundation is to advance the long-term health of the community by funding new services and equipment at Titusville Area Hospital.  The Foundation has supported over 20 important projects, ranging from pieces of equipment, new services, or large building renovations. Each project has made a lasting impression which has resulted in the ability to provide high quality care to our patients.

TAH is a not-for-profit, community-based, critical access hospital in Titusville, PA.  It was incorporated on March 26, 1900 and came to life October 1, 1901 when the first patient was treated.  "City Hospital" was spirited by the citizens of the community who had a vision to provide an ideal place for the sick and injured.   Over the years the number of licensed beds at TAH fluctuated.  The most recent change occurred in December 2014 when TAH went from being licensed as a 90 bed acute care hospital to a critical access hospital, licensed for 25 inpatient beds. TAH maintains a four bed ICU, a medical/surgical inpatient floor (also providing pediatric care) and a six bed Emergency Department.  In October 2015, TAH was acquired by Meadville Medical Center to create a seamless health system that covers all of Crawford County, Pennsylvania. MMC is committed to ensuring that healthcare in Titusville remains under local control and is founded in high-quality, innovation and affordability.
