Titusville Council on the Arts

Specific Need

Titusville Area Youth Theater

Titusville Council on the Arts is dedicated to keeping the arts affordable and available to the entire Titusville community, especially for our youth. One of TCA’s most important programs is Titusville Area Youth Theater. Youth Theater is an annual musical that takes place in Colestock Auditorium at Titusville High School every summer. Through experiencing all aspects of theater, students, ages 8-15, are given the tools to build leadership, confidence and self-esteem skills, which are proven to lead to better academic performance. We have an average of 60 students participate each year.

Concerts in the Park 2018

For nine Monday evenings each summer, Titusville looks forward to listening to live music in beautiful Scheide Park. Families bring their chairs and blankets and local organizations sell hotdogs and soda. On any given Monday, folks can enjoy live music that ranges from folk, polka, classical, jazz, swing, Broadway hits, rock n roll, 50’s -90’s mix and traditional country. The average crowd per concert is 250-300 people. Titusville Youth Theater also performs during intermission during two concerts in July, as well as the local dance group.

Mission

For over 30 years, the mission of Titusville Council on the Arts (TCA) is to stimulate, encourage, expand and support the practice, appreciation and understanding of the arts among all residents. The goal of Titusville Council on the Arts is to bring high-quality arts programming to Titusville that is accessible and affordable for each and every community member. Throughout the year, we look to grow and expand such programs as Youth Theater, Concerts in the Park, Titusville Folk and Bluegrass Festival, Holiday Concert, Fine Art Exhibit and Chalk Walk, and more.

Profile

This summer, we had over 60 children participating in Youth Theater’s Production of Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr. As they say in the show;

As your body grows bigger

Your mind grows flowered

It's great to learn

Cause knowledge is power!

A heartfelt thank-you from all of us here at Council on the Arts for your support. We are dedicated to keep the arts alive and growing in Titusville. Please visit www.facebook.com/TitusvilleCouncilontheArts for updated information on our events or call 814-827-2381.
