Specific Need

The Saegertown Volunteer Fire Department is planning to devote all donations from the 2023 Crawford Gives event towards vehicle maintenance and personal protective equipment for our members. Our hope is with the money raised, is that we can continue to serve our community and surrounding areas efficiently and safely. We appreciate your support!

Mission

It is the purpose of this organization to provide emergency fire protection, initial emergency medical treatment, and control and rescue at accidents and disasters in the Saegertown area, and other municipalities when requested. We will work as a team, under the direction of the Department Officers to acquire the necessary equipment and training to handle emergencies whenever they may occur.

We are ready to serve all of your emergency needs, whether they are motor vehicle accidents, structure fires, EMS responses, etc.

As a volunteer fire department, we rely on community support to accomplish everything we do. Whether we are fighting fires, responding to motor vehicle accidents and medical emergencies. We must use equipment and gear that is up to date. On average, the cost to outfit one of our members can be close to $25,000. That is nearly one million dollars to provide essential gear to our department of forty active members.

Along with safe equipment and personal protective gear, we have additional expenses. These include hands-on training for volunteers, vehicle maintenance, fuel, building upkeep, and much more.

When it comes to volunteering our efforts to keep our community safe, members of our department are committed to going above and beyond the call of duty. We understand that not everyone is called to be a volunteer, but there are still several opportunities behind the scenes to help out.
