ERNST TRAIL-French Creek Recreational Trails, Inc.

Goal: $25,000.00

Specific Need

HELP US COMPLETE THE MEADVILLE TO CONNEAUT LAKE CONNECTION !

Our goal is to raise $25,000 to use towards installation of a bridge on the trail over Watson Run creek near the intersection of Bailey Rd. and South Watson Run Rd.   The trail is open and usable on the east side of the creek to Meadville and on the west side to Conneaut Lake Winery.  This bridge will connect those 2 segments of trail and create a 12 mile continuous off-road trail.  Achieving this goal would complete funding requirements and allow for the bridge installation.  All funds raised during Crawford Gives will be used towards this bridge project.

Mission

French Creek Recreational Trails' mission is to promote the conversion of abandoned railroad and other rights-of-way into recreational trails located in Crawford County and/or Northwest Pennsylvania. Also to promote the preservation and protection of the natural resources found along these rights-of-way and the preservation of the history adjoining these rights-of-way.

Profile

The Ernst Trail is a 12 mile trail from Meadville going westward to Conneaut Lake.  The first 5 miles are paved with a gravel surface on the remainder.  It follows historic French Creek for the first 3 miles through forests and fields.  It is used for biking, walking, running and other non-motorized activities.  It is open dawn to dusk 365 days a year.
