Specific Need

Our specific need for the 2023/2024 year will consist of the following:

Organize and lead youth writing enrichment classes at the Meadville Library and the Blascoe Library in Erie, PA. Cost for this would be $100 month to cover crafts materials, snacks for the students and a small stipend for the presenter. Total $800 for the fall classes.
Place add on's to our website to streamline the entry and judging process for the Inspired youth writing contest which will take place during the month of April 2024. We are growing and expect over 200 entries in 2024. Total cost $1500.

All of our Crawford Gives funds go toward our local work with youth. We thank our local supporters who help make writing enrichment happen through Beautiful Balance Inspirations.

Beautiful Balance Inspirations exists to offer education, healthcare, and microfinance opportunities here in the USA and at our world centers in Africa, India, and Romania.

Profile

Beautiful Balance Inspirations was founded after taking a return trip back to India with our adopted daughter. Our family enjoyed the heritage event but felt compelled after returning home to the USA to partner in a more significant manner to raise up education, healthcare, and microfinance opportunites both here and at partnering centers around the world. Each partner center is a registered non-government organization (NGO) in their home nations. They are run by national/native individuals in their respective countries. This allows any funds raised by Beauitul Balance Inspirations to go far in each center we support since we have no large oversight of language barriers, special insurances etc., that would be needed if non-native individuals were there doing the work. We are supporting the hopes and dreams of local native founders who have a deep love and burden for their own people to educate them, offer them healthcare opportunities, and find ways to increase their financial stability.

In 2019 we opened one new center in India and had one vision clinic and increased the tutoring of students from 45 to 70. Africa center saw the support of two children from the bush be able to do school for the year. Romania center had special events for their day center school for the poor and did some repairs on their exisiting center.

We served over 100 families at each world center in 2021/22 and over 250 families here in the USA. The same numbers were seen in 2022/23.

We saw 161 students enter the 2nd Inspired Light the Fire youth writing contest. Page Publishing in Conneaut Lake, PA once again donated the winners published book. Our local students and parents love the contest and the opportunity to see their students become published authors.

Our local goals for 2023/2024 will be to sponsor our 3rd Inspired youth writing contest. We plan on hosting youth writing classes at Meadville Public library focusing on the different genres from the contest. We would also like to assist our partners in Erie, PA and host the same writing enrichmet at the Blascoe Library. We will need funds to assist us in the library classes and also in upgrading our website to handle the increase in entries and the judging process.
